There once was a time when someone rested on the seventh day, but \u2014 at the risk of veering slightly into blasphemy \u2014 that someone clearly never had to deal with an “almost-2-year-old,” so I have no shame in admitting we rested on the fifth.<\/p>\n

Having reached the end of the Parenzana, we immediately regretted returning to civilization via the 8 kilometers of seafront bike path \u2014 which would have been lovely, if it weren’t packed with people. What awaited us at the end, though, was quite the reward: the fantastic Zelena Laguna campsite.<\/p>\n

It really has everything you could think of (and then some): a well-stocked market, spotless bathrooms, a nice restaurant with sunset views, and, the cherry on top, a kids’ pool full of toys.<\/p>\n

We pitch the tent in one of the “shared” green areas, meaning there’s no assigned pitch number. This kind of arrangement is getting rarer and rarer at campsites, which penalizes people like us with a small tent who end up having to reserve a full pitch and pay as much as the mega-motorhome that needs a class-C license to drive around…<\/p>\n

We quickly make friends with the people in the caravan next door: a Polish couple who moved to Germany 38 years ago.<\/p>\n

The lady keep asking and insisting we let her know if we needed anything, and she insisted on warming our breakfast milk and serving it to us in real cups instead of our own “plasti-crap” ones!<\/p>\n

When you meet people like that, offering a simple gesture but with real heart, you start to think there might still be a little hope left in the world!<\/p>\n

Nora has an absolute blast, and on both evenings we spent here there was a “baby dance” moment. I tried getting her into rock (Smoke on the Water was her favorite for her whole first year of life), but I was thoroughly defeated by relentless volleys of “Soku Baci” and “Pepi Dance.”<\/p>\n

When the final boss “Pepi” appeared, in all his 2-meter red-seahorse-marine glory, I felt like some random Mortal Kombat character hit by Scorpion’s fatality \u2014 the one where he rips your spine clean out along with your head…<\/p>\n

A day and a half of (almost) relaxing was exactly what we needed.<\/p>\n

Day 5 – I vicini polacchi<\/h1>\n

Ci fu un tempo in cui qualcuno si ripos\u00f2 il settimo giorno, ma, forse rischiando di entrare un pelo nel blasfemo, colui non ebbe evidentemente a che fare con una “quasi 2-year-old”, quindi non mi vergogno di dire che noi ci riposammo il quinto.<\/p>\n

Arrivati al capolinea della Parenzana, ci siamo subito pentiti di essere tornati alla civilt\u00e0 percorrendo gli 8 chilometri di ciclabile lungomare che sarebbe anche stata molto bella, ma satura di persone. Quello che ci aspettava in fondo, per\u00f2, \u00e8 stato un bel premio: il fantastico campeggio Zelena Laguna.<\/p>\n

Ha veramente tutto (e di pi\u00f9) quello che ti pu\u00f2 venire in mente: market ben fornito, bagni perfetti, un bel ristorante a portata di tramonto, e, ciliegina sulla torta, una piscina per bambini piena di giochini.<\/p>\n

Montiamo la tenda in una delle aree verdi “condivise”, senza cio\u00e8 un numero di piazzola. Questo tipo di servizio \u00e8 sempre meno frequente nei campings, penalizzando gente come noi che ha una piccola tenda e deve riservare un’intera piazzola, spendendo quanto il mega-motor home che necessita di patente C per essere portato in giro…<\/p>\n

Facciamo subito amicizia con le persone che abitano la roulotte accanto: dei polacchi trasferitisi in Germania da 38 anni.<\/p>\n

La signora ci chiede e richiede pi\u00f9 volte di farle sapere se ci servisse qualcosa, ed insiste per scaldarci il latte della colazione e servircelo in tazze vere invece che nelle nostre di “plastihaccia”!<\/p>\n

Quando incontri gente cos\u00ec, che ti offre un gesto semplice ma col cuore, ti viene da pensare che ci possa essere ancora un po’ di speranza nel mondo!<\/p>\n

Nora si diverte tantissimo e durante entrambe le sere passate qui c’\u00e8 stato il momento “baby dance”. Io ho provato a farle ascoltare il rock (Smoke on the Water \u00e8 stata la sua favorita per tutto il primo anno di vita), ma sono stato miseramente sconfitto da raffiche di note di “Soku Baci” e “Pepi Dance”.<\/p>\n

Quando \u00e8 apparso il boss finale “Pepi” con i suoi 2 metri di rosso-cavalluccio-marinit\u00e0, mi sono sentito come un personaggio qualunque di Mortal Kombat quando colpito dalla fatality di Skorpion che stacca la testa dal corpo, strappando via con essa la colonna vertebrale…<\/p>\n
